Individualised Nutrition Consultations
As an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Accredited Nutritionist and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician, Casuarina has the knowledge and skills to support you with your relationship to food and body-image related goals. Casuarina offers consultations in Canberra and provides nutritional counselling over telehealth to individuals across Australia, for a range of areas of nutritional therapy including eating disorders and disordered eating, IBS or food intolerances, and PCOS. Casuarina also works with individuals under the NDIS, providing services to the Canberra region, and can provide you or your loved one with compassionate and high quality nutrition and dietitian services to support you in achieving your goals. Recommendations and advice are individualised based on needs, preferences, abilities, lifestyles and goals. You will leave a consultation feeling inspired, motivated and equipped with the knowledge and tools to help you on your journey to better health and well-being.

It is unlikely that long-term results will be achieved by one or two consultations, and as such, review appointments are encouraged to monitor progress and provide ongoing support. This will be discussed with you in your initial consultation.

Online Consultations via Zoom
Initial nutrition consultation – (60 minutes consultation) – $190
Initial nutrition consultation – (60 minutes consultation) – Concession card holder* - $170
Review nutrition consultation – (45 minutes consultation) – $130
Review nutrition consultation – (45 minutes consultation) – Concession card holder* - $120
Short review nutrition consultation – (30 minutes consultation) – $100
*Concession fees are available for pensioners, concession card holders or full-time students.
A small number of bulk billed appointment are offered per week for those experiencing financial hardship. Feel free to get in touch if this applies to you.
You will be sent an invitation to the meeting in the week leading up to your appointment. All you need is a computer or phone and internet connection. Payment is to be made at least 24 hours prior to the appointment.
Payment Methods
Consultation fees are payable prior to the consultation via bank transfer.
Medicare Benefits Scheme
If you have a Chronic Disease Management Plan from your GP, you are entitled to a rebate on 5 sessions per calendar year with a rebate of $60.30.
If you have a chronic health condition please speak to your GP about arranging a Chronic Disease Management Care Plan.
If you have an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan from your GP or Psychiatrist, you are eligible to claim a rebate of $60.30 per session for up to 20 individual sessions in a calendar year.
If you hold a DVA card and have a current GP referral this service will be bulk billed.
Private Health Insurance
Most Private Health Insurance funds will provide rebates for visits to see an Accredited Practising Dietitian. Private Health Insurance holders may be eligible to claim a rebate; please check with your health fund as the rebate amount depends on your level of cover.
You will be issued with a tax invoice after your consultation that will allow you to claim through your private health insurance fund.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Casuarina works with individuals under the NDIS. You can access these services if you have available funds in your NDIS plan, and are either self-managed or plan-managed. These consultations can be at your house, or over Zoom.
The NDIS schedule pricing for dietetic consultations is $193.99 per hour.
Travel costs for home visits are made at $193.99 per hour where the return trip is greater than 10kms, as per NDIS pricing schedule (October, 2019).
Terms and Conditions
Cancellation Policy
When an appointment has been booked, this time is set aside for you and can not be booked by someone else. As such, a cancellation fee of the full cost of the appointment will be charged for last minute cancellations, or in the case of a missed appointment. Please show up to your appointment on time and provide at least 24 hours notice if you would like to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If your appointment is booked for a Monday, this notice will need to be provided by the previous Friday. A new appointment will not be able to be scheduled until this cancellation or missed appointment fee has been paid. There are no medicare rebates available for late cancellation payments.
